OVERTIME

4:22: Logan Couture picked up the puck at the side of the net 38 seconds into overtime and put it into the open cage to give the Sharks the win.

0.0: At the end of regulation, shots on goal were 28-24 for the Sharks.

3:47: Sharks killed off the penalty.

5:54: Devils power play had a chance to steal back some of the game’s momentum after Radim Simek was sent off for two minutes for delay of game.

7:04: Sharks continue to tilt the ice, now outshooting the Devils 10-2 with just over seven minutes to play in the third.

11:20: Devils killed off the penalty. Shots on goal were 7-2 for the Sharks almost nine minutes in.

13:27: Sharks went right back to the power play after Dakota Mermis was called for interference.

16:55: Pavel Zacha was called for hooking.

4:02: Marcus Sorensen and Joel Kellman skated in on a shorthanded two on one. Kellman spotted Sorensen who quickly put it into the open side of the net and tied the game up at 2-2. | NJ 2, SJ 2

8:10: P.K. Subban and Stefan Noesen each got two minutes for roughing.

13:27: Not even seven minutes into the second, the Sharks already surpassed their shot total from the first period with seven. Devils had only three.

13:49: Cory Schneider made a great stop sliding over to deny Timo Meier with his glove on a chance in front of the net.

16:14: Lean Bergmann tripped up Damon Severson, resulting in the first full Devils power play of the game.

17:40: Mario Ferraro took a shot from the right point which found its way past a screened Cory Schneider to cut the Devils lead in half. | NJ 2, SJ 1

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: After one, shots on goal were 11-6 for the Devils.

2:29: Only nine seconds into the man advantage, Evander Kane was sent to the box to put an end to the Sharks man advantage and result in four-on-four hockey.

2:38: Miles Wood was called for holding to give the game’s first power play to the Sharks.

4:52: GOOSE GETS ONE! Nikita Gusev stripped Jacob Middleton of the puck and then outwaited Jones before firing the puck in glove side to double the Devils lead. | NJ 2, SJ 0

7:23: Tempers flared up with some pushing and shoving in front of the Sharks crease.

8:08: Jones kicked out his right pad to deny Jesper Bratt at close range.

8:51: TRAV! After Miles Wood drove the puck to the net, the Devils swarmed it and during a wild scramble, Travis Zajac whacked away at the puck a couple of times before it finally found its way behind Sharks netminder Martin Jones and in. | NJ 1, SJ 0

13:42: Just over six minutes into the game, the Devils had the only two shots on goal.
