2:00: WOOD YOU LOOK AT THAT! Wayne Simmonds lobbed a pass through the neutral zone that was picked up by Miles Wood. Wood used his speed to chase down the puck and create a breakaway situation. He slipped the puck five-hole on Anderson to put the Devils back in front. | NJ 3, OTT 2
4:48: GOOSE! Vatanen threaded the puck over to Nikita Gusev below the left circle and Gusev quickly ripped it past Anderson to tie the game up, with 1:02 still to go in the Namestnikov penalty. | NJ 2, OTT 2
5:46: Seventeen seconds into the power play, Vladislav Namestnikov got called for tripping to give the Devils power play a glorious chance to tie it with a two-man advantage.
6:03: Devils power play had a chance to get back on even terms after Colin White got called for delay of game.
6:32: Artem Anisimov batted a rebound out of the air past Blackwood to put the Senators in front. | OTT 2, NJ 1
11:21: Nick Paul got in alone and whipped a shot past Mackenzie Blackwood to tie the game up. | NJ 1, OTT 1
14:52: Connor Carrick was called for delay of game after clearing the puck over the glass from his own zone, giving Ottawa a power play early in the second period.

2:54: Blackwood came up with a huge save on the penalty kill. Artem Anisimov redirected a shot at the top of the crease and Blackwood kicked out his right pad to make a big stop.
3:23: Devils were called for having too many men on the ice just after the penalty expired.
5:25: Scott Sabourin took a penalty to put the Devils back on the PP.
7:41: Anderson was sharp in turning away Pavel Zacha, who took a nice feed from Nico Hischier on a shorthanded two-on-one.
8:35: Mirco Mueller received two minutes for interference, giving Ottawa its first man advantage of the game.
11:02: NICO! Sami Vatanen picked up the puck at the blueline and skated down to the high slot where he wristed the puck on goal. It was deflected low blocker side past Senators netminder Craig Anderson by Nico Hischier to put the Devils up by one. | NJ 1, OTT 0
12:51: Vladislav Namestnikov got called for tripping to give the Devils the game’s first power play.
13:47: Jesper Boqvist was leveled by Andreas Englund and John Hayden rode in to throw some punches with the Sens blueliner. Englund received two for interference and five for fighting while Hayden got two for instigating, five for fighting and a 10 minute misconduct.
